United States Senate Majority Leader John Thune (pictured left) and Senate Whip John Barrasso (pictured right) are set to mark the first 100 days of US President Donald Trump's second term with speeches focusing on border security, Axios reported, citing excerpts from their planned remarks.

Thune plans to highlight the "chaos" at the southern border during the previous administration, praising Trump for bringing stability.

Meanwhile, Barrasso aims to stress achievements such as record-low illegal crossings, stating, "Americans want secure borders. We are delivering them." In his remarks, Barrasso will also touch on the party's ongoing efforts to pass a major budget reconciliation package, with a deadline set for July 4.
