The United States Senate Armed Services Committee is looking for more information about President-elect Donald Trump's defense secretary pick, Pete Hegseth (pictured), ABC News reported citing communications it obtained.

Hegseth was recently accused of sexual assault which allegedly took place in 2017, and the committee members, more specifically, the top Republican, Senator Roger Wicker, and the top Democrat, Senator Jack Reed, wanted to dive deeper into the case and have sent their requests earlier in December 2024.

A confirmation hearing for Hegseth was set for January 14. Since the accusations have come to surface, Hegseth has denied them, claiming that "the engagement ... was mutual."
