Senate passes $895B defense spending bill

The United States Senate passed on Wednesday a $895 billion 2025 Defense Programs and Policy Bill, which includes pay raises for troops and bans the military health system from providing transgender medical care for children of military members.

The legislation was passed with 85 votes in favor to 14 against.

Since the House approved the bill earlier this week, it will now be forwarded to President Joe Biden to sign it into law.
