Two Iranian-flagged ships will transport over 1,000 tonnes of missile propellant from China to Iran in the next few weeks, the Financial Times reported on Wednesday citing anonymous Western security officials. It is unclear whether the Chinese government is involved in the matter.
Officials said the chemicals could propel 260 mid-range Iranian missiles. According to the report, the shipment will be delivered to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, the most powerful branch of the Iranian military. The ships are expected to depart in early February and take around three weeks to reach Iran.
