Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoygu said on Friday that during the six-month counteroffensive, Ukrainian forces lost more than 125,000 troops and 16,000 units of weapons.
During a conference call with the senior staff of the country's armed forces, he noted that the Russian army is taking a more favorable position and expanding its control zones in all directions.
Shoygu also announced that the large-scale strategic exercise "Ocean-2024" will be held in 2024, explaining that all branches of the armed forces will be involved. He noted that, in addition, four more exercises planned for next year will be held within the framework of the Collective Security Treaty Organization and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization.
