Several fireshots were heard near United States Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen's home, MSNBC reported on Tuesday.
According to a law enforcement official who spoke to the publication, the incident occurred near Yellen's residence in northwestern Washington DC around 1:00 am ET. They stressed that the outgoing treasury secretary's life was not threatened and confirmed an investigation has been opened.
Meanwhile, the New York Post reported that the shots were heard when Secret Service agents fired at the individuals who tried to break into vehicles near Yellen's home. The suspects supposedly managed to run away in a car.
