Former United States President Donald Trump stated during the CNN-hosted presidential debate that US President Joe Biden "did nothing" to prevent Russia from invading Ukraine.

"In fact, I think he encouraged it," Trump added, claiming that Russian President Vladimir Putin felt emboldened by Biden's handling of Afghanistan.

"I will have that war settled between Putin and [Ukrainian President Volodymyr] Zelensky before I take office," Trump vowed, adding that Putin's terms for peace in Ukraine "are not acceptable."
