Dr. Chen Kugel, the chief pathologist at Israel’s National Center of Forensic Medicine in Tel Aviv told CNN on Friday that the immediate cause of death of Hamas chief Yahya Sinwar was a gunshot wound to the head.
"He has a bullet in his head and there’s a severe traumatic brain injury,” Kugel said while also revealing Sinwar had multiple other injuries on his forearm, left leg, thigh, and shrapnel lodged in his chest.
It was possible to identify Sinwar's body after his finger was cut off and sent for DNA analysis, Kugel continued, adding that the results of the test matched Sinwar's profile from the time he spent in an Israeli prison.
