Billionaire and Ineos owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe (pictured) would like to buy Manchester United, The Times reported Wednesday, citing a spokesperson.
"If the club is for sale, Jim is definitely a potential buyer," the spokesman said, hinting that Sir Jim Ratcliffe is looking to buy a stake in Manchester United, aiming to take complete control of it.
Previous reports indicated that the club's owner, the Glazer family, is considering selling a minority stake in the club, which has caused the stock to rise sharply. Earlier, the world's richest man, Elon Musk, said in a tweet that he would buy the English football club. However, he clarified shortly afterward that he was joking.
