Slovak Defense Minister Robert Kalinak stated on Friday that Prime Minister Robert Fico was in stable condition, with doctors offering a positive prognosis following the assassination attempt.
Fico, who was shot on May 15 after a government meeting, has passed the critical phase of his treatment, according to Kalinak.
The assassination attempt took place in Banska Bystrica, where Fico was hospitalized with gunshot wounds. The attacker, who was apprehended at the scene, fired five shots, allegedly motivated by political reasons.
