South Korea's Constitutional Court on Tuesday began weighing on whether to remove the now-suspended President Yoon Suk-yeol from office over his short-lived attempt at imposing martial law.
The first out of the five hearings slated for Yoon's impeachment trial ended just four minutes after it started, according to Yonhap, with Yoon himself absent from the trial due to what his lawyer said on Sunday were "security concerns." The next hearing is scheduled for Thursday.
Seperately, investigators are preparing for another attempt to arrest Yoon, after failing to do so on January 3.
