South Korea on Tuesday approved the full suspension of a 2018 inter-Korean tension reduction pact after North Korea sent hundreds of trash-filled balloons over the border, according to Yonhap News Agency.
This decision follows the National Security Council's call to suspend the Comprehensive Military Agreement due to the North's recent balloon campaign and GPS jamming.
With the suspension, South Korea can restart military training near the border and resume loudspeaker broadcasts into North Korea.
