Spain's GDP grows 0.8% in Q4

Spain's gross domestic product (GDP) observed a quarterly growth of 0.8% in the fourth quarter of 2024, beating analysts' expectations, the country's National Institute of Statistics (INE) revealed in its preliminary report released on Wednesday.

On an annual basis, the figure rose by 3.5% in the reported period, up from 3.3% registered in the previous trimester. The contribution of domestic demand was 3.5 points, while the contribution of foreign demand was "close to zero," according to the report.

Exports of goods and services saw a quarterly increase of 0.1%, and imports grew by 1.3%. Year-over-year, exports expanded by 3%, while imports rose by 3.4% in the reported quarter.

Tokyo's inflation drops from 3.4% to 2.9%
The annual inflation rate in the Ku-area of Tokyo came in at 2.9% in February, dropping from the 3.4% registered in January, the Statistics Bureau of Japan said in its report published on Friday.
