Spain's gross domestic product (GDP) observed a quarterly rise of 0.8% in the first trimester of 2024, the country's National Institute of Statistics (INE) revealed in its report published on Tuesday.
Year-on-year, the figure grew by 2.5% after that of 2.1% registered in the previous quarter. The contribution of domestic demand to those numbers stood at 2.3 points and of the external one at 0.2. Compared to the previous trimester, the former figure came in at 0.3 and the latter at 0.5 points.
The report also noted quarterly increases of 3.3% and 2.2% in exports and imports of goods and services, respectively. On the other hand, annually, exports declined by 0.2% and imports by 0.7%.
