Spanish electricity grid operator Red Electrica said on Monday it started to recover power in parts of the country following a massive blackout on the Iberian Peninsula.
"We are starting to recover power in the north and south of the peninsula, which is key to progressively meet the electricity supply," Red Electrica said in a post on X. "It is a process that involves gradual energization of the transmission grid as the generation groups are coupled. We continue working to restore the supply," it added.
Earlier, local media reported that Spain, Portugal and parts of France were hit by the blackouts, whose cause was unknown.
