Spain's Foreign Affairs Minister Arancha Gonzalez Laya (pictured) said on Monday that the country's economic recovery is based upon the EU stimulus scheme. "We need a basis that gives confidence to us and to our partners," she stressed.
Speaking to local radio Cadena SER, she added that Spain does not reject the conditionality of the EU's recovery fund, but that such an agreement should be "transparent" and "offer confidence."
Gonzalez Laya previously stressed the deal could bring geopolitical value, noting that working together is essential to prevent the EU from being "caught between the US and China."
