Spanish Ecological Transition Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Teresa Ribera (pictured) told reporters in Brussels on Tuesday that she expects the European Union to reach an agreement on cutting gas consumption at today's energy meeting.
Ribera noted that she thinks the bloc will be able to agree on an objective to cut gas consumption by less than 15%. "This package doesn't fully satisfy anybody but can be a positive middle ground," Ribera underlined.
Ribera reiterated that the EU wants to send a "clear message of unity in face of [Russian President Vladimir] Putin's energy blackmail."
