British Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced on Thursday a new project for offshore wind farms with an initial funding of £300 million with the aim of attracting "billions" in private investment. He invited the clean energy industry to "build in Britain," as he pursues "the next generation of great jobs."
Starmer also said the government finalized an agreement with the Italian energy company Eni S.p.A., which will provide around £2 billion in supply chain contracts for a carbon capture project in north Wales and northwest England. The project is expected to support 2,000 jobs in the area.
