British Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer described on Monday illegal migration as an "assive driver of global insecurity" and urged the international community to take "decisive action" to jointly "defeat organized immigration crime."
"It makes me angry, frankly, because it's unfair on ordinary working people who pay the price. From the cost of hotels, to our public services struggling under the strain," Starmer said at the Organized Immigration Crime Summit in London. He noted that the issue is "unfair on the illegal migrants themselves because these are vulnerable people being ruthlessly exploited by vile gangs."
Furthermore, Starmer insisted that his government has made "real progress" since taking over, claiming that Britain has returned more than 24,000 people in the meantime, delivering "the highest return rates for eight years, and the four biggest return flights ever."
