Former United Kingdom Prime Minister Rishi Sunak criticized the new government and its October budget, which was revealed on Wednesday.
In a statement, Sunak claimed that the Conservatives already warned the public that the Labour Party "would tax, borrow and spend far beyond what they were telling the country," accusing the new government of deceiving the citizens. "They have raised tax to record levels, they have broken their promises, and it is the working people of this country that will pay the price," he underscored.
The ex-prime minister commented that the Office for Budget Responsibility "declined" to support previous claims made by the Labour Party regarding a £22 billion "black hole" in public finances.
