British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak is expected to present the £5 billion defense plan during his visit to the United States next week, The Times reported on Friday.

The plan encompasses additional funds for the country's nuclear deterrence program to be spent over the course of the next two years. A considerable amount of the fresh resources would be allocated towards the Dreadnought program aimed at substituting the UK's outdated nuclear-armed submarine fleet.

The newspaper also claims that the prime minister would also reveal an updated security review that outlines security threats from both Russia and China.
