Switzerland's annual inflation rate stood at 1.7% in October, the country's Federal Statistical Office said in a report on Thursday. The figure was unchanged from September's reading.
On a monthly basis, the consumer price index (CPI) rose by 0.1% to hit 106.4 points. The report attributed the monthly increase to rising prices for heating oil and air transport, as well as higher prices for women's coats and jackets and foreign red wine. On the other hand, price declines were observed for hotels, petrol and fruiting vegetables.
The Swiss Harmonized Index of Consumer Prices (HICP) climbed 2% year on year and was up 0.1% month on month.
