Annual inflation in Switzerland clocked in at 1.3% in July, unchanged compared to the corresponding timeframe a year before, according to the Federal Statistical Office's report on Friday. Month-on-month, inflation slowed by 0.2%.
Core inflation, excluding volatile categories of food and energy, was at 1.1% year-on-year and down by 0.3% compared to June.
The downward trend was driven by lower prices of package holidays and some vegetables, as well as clothing and footwear. In contrast, categories of supplementary accommodation and fruiting vegetables recorded a price increase, as did the hire of private means of transport.
