Syria's President, Ahmed al-Sharaa, embarked on his inaugural foreign visit to Saudi Arabia on Sunday, accompanied by Foreign Minister Asaad Hassan al-Shibani.

During the visit, al-Sharaa is scheduled to meet with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to discuss bilateral relations and regional stability.

This trip marks a significant step in Syria's diplomatic efforts following the ousting of Bashar al-Assad in December. It follows Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan's visit to Damascus on January 24.
