Syria's President Ahmed al-Sharaa stated on Sunday that Saudi Arabia has a "genuine desire" to support his country, following talks with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
The meeting in Riyadh marked Sharaa's first foreign visit since seizing power, signaling a potential shift in Syria's regional ties.
"Saudi Arabia is committed to helping Syria recover from years of conflict," Sharaa said after the talks. His visit comes amid ongoing efforts to rebuild war-torn Syria and reintegrate it into the Arab diplomatic fold.
