Syrian rebel factions agree to unite under Defense Ministry

Ahmed al-Sharaa, the de facto leader of Syria, reached an agreement with all militant factions to consolidate under the the country's Defense Ministry, the new general administration confirmed on Tuesday.

The newly formed leadership previously announced that all fighters which participated in the ousting of the former President Bashar al-Assad will be brought together under the rule of law within the ministry.

Israel strikes weapons depot in southern Syria
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said its warplanes struck a Hamas weapons depot in the Deir Ali area of southern Syria on Saturday. According to an official statement, the weapons at the facility were meant for attacks on IDF troops. Israel has previously carried out similar airstrikes, hitting mainly weapons facilities of Lebanon-based Hezbollah.
