TSMC to build third chip factory in Arizona

The Biden administration revealed on Monday in a statement that Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company Limited (TSMC) will be building its third semiconductor plant in Arizona, United States.

With this, the company's total investment in Arizona now stands at $65 billion, with 25,000 direct construction and manufacturing jobs created, US President Joe Biden specified. The US Commerce Department revealed that TSMC is eligible for a grant of $6.6 billion and another $5 billion in government loans.

"These facilities will manufacture the most advanced chips in the world, putting us on track to produce 20% of the world’s leading-edge semiconductors by 2030," the head of state noted.
