TSMC to receive ASML's EUV machines by year-end

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSMC) is set to acquire the latest in high-precision chipmaking equipment from Dutch company ASML by the end of the year, Nikkei Asia reported on Friday.

The high numerical aperture extreme ultraviolet (high NA EUV) lithography machines, costing around $350 million each, will be deployed to produce next-generation semiconductors.

According to the media outlet, this move will occur months after Intel begins testing similar equipment.
