Ou Yang Li-hsing, deputy head of Taiwan's state-owned National Chung-Shan Institute of Science and Technology, was found dead on Saturday, the Central News Agency (CNA) reported
According to the report, Ou Yang was found in a hotel room in Pingtung, where he was in a business trip, and the authorities are still looking into the cause of death.
The news comes amid rising tensions between Taiwan and China after United States House Speaker Nancy Pelosi visited the island despite Beijing;s warnings against such a move.
