TeamViewer buys AR firm Upskill

TeamViewer announced on Tuesday that it acquired Upskill, an augmented reality (AR) company based in the United States, for an undisclosed sum. The company added it plans to expand Upskill further in the US.

"Joining forces with Upskill is expanding our footprint in the space of vertical augmented reality solutions in our largest market, the US. I am happy to welcome the Upskill team that adds significant technical and solution delivery know-how to our US organization. Our joint AR teams now represent the world's most experienced workforce in deploying wearable computing technology to the shop floor," TeamViewer CEO Oliver Steil said.

Upskill offers industry-specific AR solutions and is a supplier of companies like Boeing and Merck. Following the announcement, TeamViewer shares rose 3.64% at 10:13 am CET in Frankfurt.
