Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Aerospace Force Commander Amir Ali Hajizadeh said on Thursday, as quoted by Tasnim news agency, that Iran received a message from Israel before Tehran's retaliatory attack back in April.

Hajizadeh detailed that in the message, carried by Egypt's officials, Israel stated that it was willing to "compromise" in Gaza as it wanted to avoid Tehran's response.

Earlier in April, Iran's embassy in Damascus, Syria, was allegedly struck by Israel, leaving a number of people dead. Since then, Tehran conducted a limited operation against Israel, targeting its military infrastructure. After it was done, the country pledged to respond to any further provocations if necessary.
