Tesla sales in China plunge 5.3% in October

Tesla Inc.'s sales of electric vehicles made in China stood at 68,280 units in October, dropping by 5.3% compared to the same month a year prior, the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA) revealed in a preliminary report on Monday.

Meanwhile, Tesla's rival BYD Auto Co., Ltd.'s passenger vehicle deliveries amounted to 500,526 units, reaching a monthly record and growing 66.2% year-over-year.

The CPCA shared that new energy vehicle sales in China came in at 1.4 million units, surging 58% on an annual basis and 14% on a monthly basis.
