Tesla Inc. filed to recall 694,304 of its vehicles in the United States, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) revealed on Friday.
Among the affected units are the 2024 Cybertruck, 2017-2025 Model 3, and 2020-2025 Model Y. "The tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) warning light may not remain illuminated between drive cycles, failing to warn the driver of low tire pressure," NHTSA said, adding that such vehicles do not comply with the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards, as improperly inflated tires raise the crash risk.
To resolve the issue, Tesla released an over-the-air (OTA) software update for free.
