Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton praised the acquittal on all charges brought on against him in the impeachment trial underscoring that "the truth prevailed" and warned the Biden administration to "buckle up." "You will be held accountable," the attorney general stressed in the letter.

"The sham impeachment coordinated by the Biden Administration with liberal House Speaker Dade Phelan and his kangaroo court has cost taxpayers millions of dollars, disrupted the work of the Office of Attorney General and left a dark and permanent stain on the Texas House," the attorney general wrote. "Your lawless policies will not go unchallenged," he added.

In May, the Texas House of Representatives passed a vote for the impeachment of the state's attorney general on charges of corruption, bribery, and obstruction of justice.
