Third House Republican joins bid to oust speaker Johnson

Paul Gosar (pictured), a Republican representative from Arizona, joined his other two party members in the effort to remove House Speaker Mike Johnson from office on Friday, highlighting internal strife among Republicans over foreign aid legislation.

Gosar criticized the Speaker's motion to move forward with the $61 billion package to Ukraine, further "drawing America into an endless and purposeless war in Ukraine," despite "repeated promises" that "no additional money" would be allocated for Ukraine without securing the southern border.

"We need a Speaker who puts America first rather than bending to the reckless demands of the warmongers, neo-cons, and the military-industrial complex making billions from a costly and endless war half a world away," he added.
