The former Chelsea and Bayern Munich coach Thomas Tuchel (pictured) signed a deal with England's Football Association (FA) on Tuesday to become the new England manager.
Tuchel left Bayern Munich in February, which the club said was a mutual decision, and has been out of work since then. His new deal with the Football Association marks the third time that the England national soccer team has been led by a foreign manager, after Sven-Goran Eriksson and Fabio Capello.
The previous manager of England's national soccer team stepped down in July after the team lost to Spain in the Euro 2024 final. In August, England's FA announced that Lee Carsley will take over as the interim head coach until the permanent head coach is found.
