New York Attorney General Letitia James (pictured) announced on Tuesday that the state's authorities reached settlements with three drug distributors over their involvement in the opioid overdose crisis.
McKesson Corp., Cardinal Health Inc. and AmerisourceBergen Corp. agreed to pay $1.1 billion amid the ongoing legal process against the companies in the state of New York.
"This is the largest monetary agreement my office has negotiated since 2019," James stated in a tweet, adding that "these funds will be vital to prevent future devastation caused by opioids."
