ByteDance Ltd.'s TikTok's Chief Operating Officer Vanessa Pappas (pictured) has decided to call it quits and step down from her position, it was revealed in an email seen by various media channels on Thursday.
"Given all the successes reached at TikTok, I finally feel the time is right to move on and refocus on my entrepreneurial passions. I know the company has a very bright and stable future under the strong leadership of [CEO] Shou Chew and our executive team, I will be here to support him, the leadership team and all of you during this transition by taking on an advisory role for the company," she explained.
Meanwhile, Chew noted in a separate statement to employees that ex-Disney executive Zenia Mucha will join the company to act as chief brand and communications officer, while Adam Presser, who has been chief of staff at TikTok, will now be the operations leader.
