TikTok reportedly hiring for US local services expansion

TikTok is exploring an expansion of its local services in the US, Axios reported Tuesday, citing job postings and sources. The company is hiring in Seattle, Los Angeles, and New York for roles focused on connecting businesses with content creators and users. The initial emphasis is on travel, food, and lifestyle services, with efforts to onboard influencers to promote local businesses.

This push comes as TikTok argues it benefits small businesses, a key point in its fight to remain in the US under a law that would ban the app unless it is sold to a domestic owner.

Meanwhile, potential buyers are in talks with US President Donald Trump's administration, as the ban's enforcement has been delayed by 75 days, extending the deadline to early April.
