EPA-EFE/SEBASTIEN NOGIER

TotalEnergies revealed on Monday its plans to purchase Lewis Energy Group's 20% interest in the Dorado field, which is operated by EOG Resources, with an 80% stake, thereby increasing its natural gas production capacity in Texas.

Through this investment, TotalEnergies anticipates a 50 million cubic feet per day (Mcf/d) increase starting in 2024. Moreover, there is potential for an additional 50 Mcf/d by 2028.

"This acquisition strengthens our production of natural gas in the United States, contributing to reinforce TotalEnergies' LNG integration with a low cost and low emission upstream gas feed ... We are pleased to partner with EOG Resources, an operator recognized for its strong technical expertise," Exploration & Production President at TotalEnergies Nicolas Terraz pointed out.
