Toyota Motor Corp. plans to manufacture around 9.9 million vehicles globally in fiscal 2025, the Japanese newspaper Nikkan Jidosha Shimbun reported on Thursday. The production includes Toyota and Lexus brand vehicles.

According to the report, which cites the company's communication with parts manufacturers, Toyota intends to make around 3.3 million vehicles in Japan and 6.6 million in its factories overseas. The automaker expects a rebound compared to 2024 following strong sales of hybrid cars and recovery from its vehicle testing scandal, which resulted in a suspension of three of its models.
