The verdict in former United States President Donald Trump's business fraud lawsuit has been postponed, New York State Office of Court Administration spokesperson Alfred Baker said. Previously, Judge Arthur Engoron said he could deliver the verdict on January 31 but did not commit to that deadline.
Baker said the verdict could be expected in early to mid-February but cautioned that this is a "rough estimate" that is "subject to modifications." He did not give a reason for the delay. The lawsuit was brought by New York Attorney General Letitia James, who accused Trump of inflating his assets to secure bank loans. She asked the court for a $370 million fine and to ban Trump from doing business in New York.
