The Trump administration is firing over 100 employees of the United States Department of Homeland Security's (DHS) civil rights branch, the New York Times reported on Friday, citing five current and former government officials.

The report stated that US President Donald Trump also shut down the ombudsman office for Citizenship and Immigration Services, which was responsible for reviewing the Trump administration's legal immigration policies.

Last month, the administration reportedly fired around 130 employees of the Department of Homeland Security's Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA).
