Former United States President Donald Trump stated at an Iowa rally that President Joe Biden's electric vehicle mandate was "insane."

He claimed enforcing electric vehicles (EVs) would take away American jobs and remarked on the idea of battery-powered trucks as "not viable" due to their low capacity, stressing they would disrupt the US's supply chain.

He also added that Biden "puts China first" by emphasizing EV technology and that car manufacturing would move from the US to Mexico or China if this mandate continues.
