United States President Donald Trump praised the results of the recent North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) summit during remarks at the White House, praising allies for agreeing to raise defense spending to 5% of GDP, totaling over $1 trillion a year.

Trump described this as a major shift from previous commitments below 2%, calling it a "tremendous experience." He also said some world leaders told him the United States went from being "dead" a year ago to becoming the "hottest country anywhere in the world."

Trump also claimed Americans have renewed pride in public service, saying people now join the military in record numbers.
