United States President Donald Trump met with his Argentine colleague Javier Milei at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) and discussed "groundbreaking economic reforms" and bilateral cooperation and also invited him to visit Washington, the White House said.
Milei's visit to the White House could happen "in the coming months." Argentina's president attended CPAC earlier on Saturday, remarking that he is an "outsider" like Trump, declaring that the "era of the omnipresent state is over" while announcing a shift from "traditional politicians" to new leaders not afraid to challenge their establishments.
Shortly after his election win in November last year, Trump had described Milei as his favorite head of state.
