United States President-elect Donald Trump nominated Scott Turner (pictured left) as the next secretary of the US Department of Housing and Urban Development.
Turner, a former NFL player, served as the First Executive Director of the White House Opportunity and Revitalization Council (WHORC) during Trump's first term. He was instrumental in economic development efforts, including the Opportunity Zones initiative, which attracted over $50 billion in private investments. Turner has also been involved in local politics and community work, founding the Community Engagement & Opportunity Council (CEOC) to support economic growth and revitalization.
Trump expressed confidence in Turner’s leadership, emphasizing his experience and commitment to improving American communities.
