United States President Donald Trump defended on Monday former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro, saying that Brazil is currently doing a "terrible thing" regarding its treatment of the former president.
"I have watched, as has the World, as they have done nothing but come after him, day after day, night after night, month after month, year after year! He is not guilty of anything, except having fought for THE PEOPLE," Trump wrote on his Truth Social. He also said that he had gotten to know Bolsonaro and called him a "strong leader who truly loved his country," adding that he was "a very tough negotiator on TRADE" as well.
The US president stated that Brazilians will not tolerate this and that he will personally watch "WITCH HUNT" of former Brazilian president, his family and supporters "very closely." Trump called for another election in the country and emphasized that people should "LEAVE BOLSONARO ALONE."
