United States President Donald Trump talked to NBC News on Tuesday about the recent chat leaks that allegedly revealed US war plans. Atlantic Editor-in-Chief Jeffrey Goldberg was seemingly mistakenly added to the group by White House National Security Adviser Mike Waltz.

"Michael Waltz has learned a lesson, and he's a good man," Trump said, adding that the story is "the only glitch in two months, and it turned out not to be a serious one." The US president went on to say that Goldberg's presence didn't change anything as attacks against the Houthis went smoothly and were "perfectly successful."

While the Trump administration continued to deny any sharing of classified information, Goldberg insisted that "war plans" were being discussed in the thread.
