United States President Donald Trump said he gave "full authorization" to US Immigration and Customs Enforcement's (ICE) officers to arrest and jail anyone who attacks them with rocks or bricks.
Trump wrote on Truth Social that he saw "thugs" violently throwing objects at officers in Texas, causing major damage to official vehicles. He said the attacks showed "total disrespect for law and order" and claimed officers struggled to watch it happen.
Trump said he directed Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and border czar Tom Homan to tell officers to stop their vehicles and arrest the attackers "using whatever means is necessary."
